According to South Africa news reports at least 20 people were killed when a bus left the R26 road between Bethlehem and Fouriesburg in the Free State. This occurred on Saturday 15th of January. SABC News reports a tire burst and the bus left the road, plunging into a river.

Police shot dead a woman in Sacramento, California after she reportedly stole an ambulance from a local hospital and proceeded to ram police vehicles.
According to the South African News Networks, Times Live and News 24 - two female paramedics were attacked in Roodepoort, Joburg whilst attendng to a toddler suffering with burns. One of the women were reportedly raped.
A new Pre-Hospital Care Scheme has been lauched in West Cork, Ireland. Additional advanced care paramedics are being deployed in rapid response vehicles to the scene of major accidents. Their aim is to support the local ambulance service and paramedics and provide advance life support skills.
